TRAINING PROGRAMS

Training Programmes offered to Schools and Colleges

The training imparted would be at three stages:  Induction, Orientation and Refresher.

Induction: - This programme will be offered to all subject teachers at the School & College level. The Induction programme would provide them with the essential skill, and attitude about the teaching profession and the educational field.

Orientation: - This includes set of programmes aimed at training and focusing the teachers’ attention towards areas which enhance their insights and ability to teach effectively. This phase of training will take place when new concepts and ideas are introduced in the higher education to keep abreast with changes and new methods of teaching which have evolved. This training would be imparted in the second cycle of training.

Refresher: - These programmes will be organized subject wise.  It involves content enrichment and giving inputs about the innovative techniques of teaching.  This would be done in very small groups.  This training would be imparted in the third cycle of training.

Certificate Programmes offered for Aspiring & In-service Teachers

Finishing School for Teachers [FST]

FST is a three-month intensive programme conducted twice a year : Feb-March-April  & Aug-Sept-Oct.

FST is a concept that links teaching in teacher training colleges with expectations of school managements, students and parents.  Modules covered are:
  • Communication & Presentation Skills
  • Creativity
  • Classroom Management
  • Mentoring & Counseling
  • Innovations in Education
  • Life Skills
  • Creative teaching of pedagogy (English/Maths/Science/Social Science) 
Eligibility & Criteria:  New entrants into teaching profession as well as unemployed potential teachers can register for the programme.  Minimum qualification is degree in any discipline (NTT, D.Ed. or B.Ed. is an added advantage). 

Certificate Course in Creative Teaching [CCCT]

This programme accommodates working schedules of in-service teachers and is beneficial for teachers who are formally trained as well as teachers who are untrained. The training programme provides an opportunity for pedagogical work and better employability.

Eligibility & Criteria: The programme is open to all in-service teachers (Nursery /Primary/High School) and minimum qualification is degree in any discipline preferably with NTT, D.Ed. or B.Ed.) or a letter from the Head of the Institution where the teacher is in service.

Associate School Programme  

PIFI offers “Associate School Programme”, to school managements, at a reasonable price which is well within the time and money constraints of the Schools.

PIFI offers schools which Associate with PIFI: 10 workshops throughout an academic year; 8 workshops for teachers and 2 for X standard students.  Workshops are conducted on a Saturday (full day) of month or 2 Saturdays (2-half days).   Individual workshops can be designed to suit the needs of the school after a brainstorming session with teachers.
